This has been another long week... I really thought that our football season would be over last week but, we won our game and off to the second round of playoffs. The team plays in Memphis this Friday night which is almost a 4 hour drive... I knew that would not be a good idea for me considering how I felt after last week... After last weeks game, my back was really hurting and I just plain didn't feel good, I had to get up and cover 5 basketball games the next day. After I got home Saturday afternoon, I couldn't do anything except lay on the couch in pain!!! When we won I knew I had to get a hold of my doctor. There was no way I was driving to Memphis, working on my feet chasing after football players for 6 hours then driving home. Of course, my doctor agreed with me and he gave me a work excuse for tomorrow. Someone will be going to Memphis for me... I feel a little guilty that someone has to make this trip because I can't but when I think about myself for once. I am proud that I made this decision.
I have no pictures for this week because I can't seem to find my charger for my camera battery!!! I have no clue where it is... The only explanation is that I left it in the hotel when I went to Peoria for Mandy's wedding... That seems like so long ago that I should have had to charge the battery since then but it looks like I will be purchasing a new one today or tomorrow. We are soooo excited that Alan and Cate are coming down for the weekend! Hopefully we will have some fun things going on around Nashville to do with them. If not, there will be plenty of work around the house for them to do :)
I should hopefully have some pictures up this weekend and a 31 week picture ready for Monday... I am getting quite big now.

29 Weeks Belly Picture...
Now there's a front view. She hangs out pretty much on the right side all the time and I think you can see my belly is a little lopsided to the right. My belly button is almost gone now.
At 29 Weeks the book says she is almost 17 inches from head to toe and weighs about 2.5 lbs. I'm still feeling a lot of kicking although not quite as often or as hard. The doctor says this is normal because the space is getting kind of cramped in there. If I take time to sit down and relax at night and have some food I definitely feel the 10 per hour. The other night Tom and I were sitting on the couch and watching my stomach jump. That was the first time that Tom was able to see her move but of course he has been able to feel her for several weeks now. The scary thing is; is that I stayed up and waited for Tom to get home from class on Friday night. He went out for a couple of drinks with a friend and got home at midnight. We stayed up till about 1am and that was the most I felt her move in so long. She was practicing her gymnastics in there. I have a feeling that she is going to be a naucturnal baby. Ugh Oh!!

Go Bears!!!
Over the past few days we have gotten a couple packages in the mail. Mom and Dad sent us all of the bedding and lady bug decor for the baby's room. It came in a couple of different shipments... All the stuff is so cute, I can't wait to get Kennedy's room started. I think that we are going to wait until the middle of December to do that though. We also got a package from Mike and Lisa yesterday with a couple of outfits and a little musical bear. Tom saw this one and fell in love!!! He thinks it is the best present Kennedy could ever get and he can't wait to put it on her...

Baby Shower!
This morning Tom and I got motivated, especially since we thought we were sleeping in only to wake up and realize that it was an hour earlier than we thought it was. Thank You daylight savings time!!! I got a lot of last weeks laundry folded and a good start on this weeks. We also started cleaning out the closet in the office/soon to be baby's room and the closet in the spare bedroom. Tom got an extra clothes rod up in the office closet and I got everything all organized, for the most part. Tom headed off to the gym and I finished cleaning then we got ready to head over to Mindy's house for the shower.
Our friends; Jeanie, Mindy and Jen threw the shower for us with all of the athletic trainer girls that I work with. There was a really good showing and they did such a great job with the shower. I was very impressed and Tom even had a good time being that he was the only boy there. We played a few games. My favorite was a game where they blind folded me and I had to guess the baby toys that they handed me. I got 8/10 right!! I rock!

The cake... It was sooo cute. Look at the little lady bugs on it. I love it!! And the cake was really good too. My favorite, white with chocolate frosting! YUM!!!

Me and Tom with the cake. This was Tom's first shower, he really didn't know what was going on. He thought it was weird to get a picture with the cake, but he did good and he caught on pretty quick.
Me and my girls!!! Jen to the far left, then me, Mindy and Jeanie!!! What a great group of friends. They have really made it easier on me being down here. When I first got here, I didn't want to make any new friends because I didn't want it to be hard to leave any more good friends behind, but I went ahead and did it anyway. If/when we end up leaving Tennessee it's going to be tough to say goodbye to these girls!! I can't thank them enough for such a great shower, they really went above and beyond anything I expected!
We had a really good time.
Happy Halloween!!!
We had a decently uneventful week this week. I worked a lot. Tom worked on school work and worked at night. We tried to get little things done around the house, but not much really got done. I had my usual Friday night football game, which by the way was a monsoon! It rained buckets and the guys were pretty much playing on a mud slip and slide. I only had one kid really get hurt so I guess it wasn't that bad and my Gortex kept me pretty dry. The soccer game that was schedule for Saturday did get rained out due to how muddy and tore up the field was. That meant for the first time this month, I had a two day weekend!!!! Saturday was a complete lazy recovery day. We got up and watched The Biggest Loser and then a movie, Sunshine Cleaning. We took the dogs for a walk, went to the store to get candy for the trick or treaters and then carved our pumpkin. Then back to laying around watching TV. We did light a fire in the fireplace though.

Tom getting his hands dirty. We picked out all the seeds and I made Tom toasted pumpkin seeds. It's his favorite time of year just for that.

Riley kept wanting to steal the pumpkin guts. She got away with a couple of hunks of it. Here she is eyeing the topper... :)
I drew the scary face and Tom carved it. It took a long time because of all the little curves and detail, but it turned out really cool.
The finished product!!! All lit up and spooky!!!
We only had about 5 sets of kids come to the door. The first group was two little girls and their mom. The little girl was telling Tom how cool his pumpkin was and that she thought he should be a professional and next year she is coming to our house before Halloween and paying him $50 for a pumpkin! She was soooo cute!!!
Demolition Derby
Last Saturday when I got done with my soccer game I headed up to Ashland City to see a friend of ours compete in a demolition derby. Tom had helped him strip the car out a couple of months ago so all of us wanted to go up and cheer him on! Tom was really disapointed that he couldn't make it up to see it; he had reserves that weekend so he was down in Birmingham. Kendal's was the only bright shiny "new" car in his heat. So unfortunately he got picked on. He was the first one done in his heat.

Here's the "before." Kendal is the Green car just under the center spot light.

Here he is... all done...poor Kendal! :( He had a lot of fun though and we had a lot of fun cheering him on!

27 Week Belly Picture
I am feeling much stronger movements lately. The newest symptom I am experiencing is acid reflux. I have never had this before and didn't know what it felt like. It's not a whole lot of fun but I have found that Pepcid AC takes care of it pretty quick. I have also noticed that as she is moving up I am starting to get a lot more out of breath and moving around I am much slower!

Made it through a tough week...
I am feeling much better after a long week. Wednesday night we had a little bit of a scare. I woke up from the couch when Tom got home from work to go to bed. I went to the bathroom and I had a little bleeding. It wasn't much but enough to make me worry. I called the after hours number for the doctor and they had us go into Labor and Delivery at the hospital to get "checked out". It turned out that the "bleeding" had stopped by then and on exam I had not started dialating. I was hooked up to monitors and the baby's heart rate was perfect but I was having a little bit of uterine activity that they thought may be associated to dehydration although, I feel I have been drinking plenty of water. So they still don't know why I was bleeding they gave me two doses of steroids, 24 hours apart, and I also had an ultrasound on Thursday which showed that everything was functioning normally. It wasn't until Thursday night that I knew that everything was okay and they released me to go back to work. Tom and I were pretty stressed out and very tired from lack of sleep but now are very relieved to know that everything is fine. I just have to be EXTRA careful, which I have been. Everyone at work knows what happened and have been extremely helpful to make sure that I am not doing too much. We are very grateful that everything turned out okay!!

Our Pretty Puppies!!
We had a nice weekend. Yesterday I had a soccer game to go to and Tom stayed home and had a "catch up on rest day" We met in the afternoon and went shoe shopping then sat by a fire and had dinner last night while we watched "The Biggest Loser". We slept in this morning and I got up and made Tom a nice biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs breakfast. Tom then helped me clean the house. He did all the hard stuff and I folded laundry. Tom spent the rest of the afternoon working on his homework for his internship and night class.

After Tom finished his homework we headed out for dinner. Since we have moved here we have heard that before you leave Nashville you have to eat at the Loveless Cafe. Since we like to do "historical and scenic things" we decided this weekend would be the weekend for the Loveless. I forgot my camera so you don't get any pictures of the place unless we end up going there again. It was a great place to eat; very traditional Southern Home Cookin'. They gave us way more than our share of food and the best homemade biscuits and preserves.

Oktoberfest 2009
Another week in the books. Tom got home from Mississippi on Wednesday night just before I got home from work. It was really nice to have him back home. We had a nice night together but I had to work all day on Thursday and he worked that night at Vandy and didn't get home until after I was asleep so it was right back in to the way things were. Friday night my football game was cancelled because "the weather might get bad" Tennessee is so weird down here. They didn't play the game because of the threat of a lot of rain and potential lightning but it barely sprinkled all night!! Figures. That meant that we had to play the game Saturday night instead... Tom and I had plans to spend the entire day together and just like usual, my work screwed it all up. We were able to spend the morning together anyway. We were able to stick with our plans of going to the Oktoberfest up in Nashville in the morning and early afternoon and then we just had to cancel our plans to go to a bonfire that night... :(

Me sitting on a bail of hay, resting my feet and back from walking all around downtown. They had several booths of crafts and food vendors. However, I was a little disappointed on the amount of actual German "stuff" they had. Oh well, it was still a lot of fun.

We went in for a tour of one of the old churches downtown. This is the Catholic church. The architecture was beautiful. Everything was carved wood and so very intricate; from the alter to the choir loft to the confessional. It was amazing.
We sat and watched the Polka band for a while. The lady on the accordion and the piano played very well and she also had a beautiful voice. She even yodeled a little. We didn't get out of our seats to Polka this time; maybe next time.
Tom's friend from School, Mike, and his wife met us right before we had to leave for me to go to work. They still had enough time to enjoy a liter of beer together.
I made it home just in time to gather my clothes for work and get out the door to go to the high school. The game wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, it was over in just over 2 hours. By the end though, my back, legs and feet were hurting sooooo bad! I got home, put my feet up for a little bit then headed off to bed.
We got up this morning and Tom went with me grocery shopping. I spent pretty much the entire day today cooking meals for the next few weeks. I decided that I am sick of eating canned soup and frozen dinners so I have prepared and froze several different things to get us by for a while. Tom spent the day with Mike aerating each others yards. They rented a machine from Home Depot and went to town. I don't think either of them knew how long it was going to take. Tom left the house at noon and got home at 7:30. We ate dinner and now Tom is in the kitchen cleaning up my mess from the day. He likes it so much when I cook for him that he always offers to do the dishes. What a good guy I have!!!

My crafty fall day...
I had a football game yesterday afternoon so my Saturday, day of rest, was wasted. I left the house around 9 and got home at 5:15. As soon as I got home, I laid down to try to take a nap. Unfortunately, I was unable to fall asleep and I just laid around until about 8:30. It was then that I finally fell asleep, and that was it. I woke up around 10 just in time for Tom to call and say goodnight then it was off to bed. I felt kind of bad for missing church this morning, but I think God will understand that I needed the sleep and the rest. Once I got up I was feeling very rested and spent the morning watching some TV. I then got the motivation to use all the fall pumpkins, gourds and Indian corn that Mom and Dad gave me last weekend. I took a little trip to Michael's and got some raffia and some ribbon and made these beautiful wall hangings. I also got things to make a fall wreath but didn't have time today. My Mary Kay lady came over at 1:30. I gave her one of these and she thought it was pretty too!

Here's the one I kept for myself. It is hanging on the wall right by the front door. I am so proud of my work and it took less than 5 minutes to make and less than $2!! My kind of craft project!.

Here are the other 2. I gave the one on the right to Anne-Louise. I am not sure who I am going to give the other one to. I will have to think about it!
It's been a rainy day today and I was craving something sweet. I had some apples still in the fridge and I have wanted apple crisp ever since Mom has been bragging about making the apple crisp from the apples from her trees. I make some pretty good apple crisp I have to say. I think I could give Mom a run for her money if I could just grow my own apples! Mmmmmm... It was yummy!
