Danger Girl!

We have a little dare devil on our hands. Finally, yesterday we had to block off Kennedy her own little section of the living room. With me being pregnant, it was just getting way to hard to chase her all over the living room getting her out of trouble all the time. She loves to climb up and grab Grandma's pumpkins from the bay window, or under the desk to grab the garbage or the electrical cords, or over to the side table to grab the table cloth or behind her rocking chair to grab all the picture books. And that's only in one room! Well, I had to leave her for a second to go in the other room and even though Grandma was right there, she still did not want me to leave her in that cage!

Trying to make the escape.

"Take me with you, Mommy!"

Almost high enough to jump over.
Boy are we in trouble!

Now what?
She got up and now can't quite figure out how to get down.
Poor Baby! Mommy will save you!

I can't believe how strong she is!

Kennedy's first Halloween

For Kennedy's first Halloween, we thought it would be a little weird taking a baby trick-or-treating when she can't eat the candy but we still wanted to share the fun of it with her. We decided that she would go trick-or-treating over to all of her Grandparent's houses and of course, Aunt Marcy's. She had such a good time and we never expected her to get so many Halloween presents. I guess no one can resist such a cute pumpkin!

Our first stop was Great Grandma and Grandpa Kennedy's house. We surprised them but they didn't care. They thought she was just the best pumpkin there could be! She really made their day!

Our next stop was Colo to see Great Grandma Kaufman and Aunt Marcy and Uncle Dean. Grandma surprised Kennedy with a set of building blocks and a colors book and even gave her a pack of skittles at the door.

Walking over to Aunt Marcy's house from Grandma's.
She had so much fun seeing all the other kids dressed up silly!

Trick - or - Treat!

The cutest pumpkin on earth!

Kennedy's first Pumkin

Friday night when Tom got home from work we decided to carve Kennedy's pumpkin for her. She really didn't know what to think of it but really wanted to play with all the pumpkin guts. She didn't last very long watching. Grandma took her to go get a bath and to play and them came back for the finishing touches.

"Huh, that's interesting, doesn't look like much of a toy?"

Mommy draws it and Daddy carves it.
What a good team. Not too scary this year!

"Thank you Daddy for such a cool pumpkin!"

Ahhhh, finally done!
"I love it!"

Happy Halloween!

Silly Girl!

I finally got a winky on film! They just keep getting better and better! She used to only wink when she was tired at night to keep her from going to sleep. Now she does it when you ask her to wink or when she just wants to flirt with someone. It typically comes with a wave first. What a little ham.

Winky for Mommy!

Yummy fig newton snack!
Oh, what a mess. Next time we will cut it up in pieces instead of giving her the whole thing!

When we got back from Missouri on Sunday night we decided to stay at Grandma Kaufman's because Kennedy had her 9 month check up with Dr. Swanson on Monday morning. When we got up in the morning we didn't have as much time as we anticipated to get ready so Kennedy had no other choice except to hold her own bottle for the first time! I had to make Tom's lunch and breakfast and still pack the diaper bag and only had 10 min and that's about how long it takes Kennedy to drink her bottle in the morning. Kennedy was a good sport and a team player!

What a big girl!

So sleepy!

After Kennedy's doctor's appointment we were both pooped out. When Grandma got home from work she told me to go take a nap and she would watch Kennedy. Well it turned out that she took a nap too.

Kennedy checked out great for her 9 month well visit. She weighs 18 lbs 12 oz and is 27 3/4 in long. She is in the 50% for both height and weight however she is in the 98% for head circumference. Lots of room for those big brains of hers! She also got part one of her flu shot. She has to go back in one month to get the second half.

Where does the time go!

I think it has been almost 3 weeks since I have published a post. Time just keeps slipping away from me and I keep saying to myself, "I'll do it tomorrow"... Well look where that has gotten me. Alan and Cate came up to Iowa three weeks ago to do some wedding planning stuff and to get their engagement pictures taken. Tom and Kennedy were pooped out by the end of the weekend. Kennedy had to take a nap with Daddy before they could say goodbye to them on Sunday.

Such a sleepy pair!

Well, two weekends ago, (October 23-24) we went down to Macon, MO to visit college friends of ours, Jenny and Roman. They have a daughter just 4 months older than Kennedy and this was the first time any of us have been able to meet her. Alyssa taught Kennedy so many new things that weekend. Right off the bat, Kennedy saw Alyssa stand up from crawling and had to figure it out. Luckily, Kennedy doesn't quite have the balance down or she would be walking already! She also learned how to crawl instead of scoot however, she still prefers the scooting. She also learned how to sit up from the crawling position. She also learned how to jump on the bed and got to go to the park, for a wagon ride and played in the bathtub with Alyssa. Kennedy didn't eat any baby food the whole weekend and now prefers to eat from Mommy and Daddy's plate instead of that mushy baby stuff!

Kennedy and Alyssa, best buds!
