4th of July Weekend!
We had a really fun weekend! Saturday we hung out around the house and outside as much as we could. In the afternoon we got the puppy pool out and used it as a baby pool since the doggies aren't here. Kennedy had so much fun. She loves kicking her feet and jumping up and down!

Lil Diva Girl! Loves her Daddy!
Saturday night we met our friends, Mike and Candice, and their boys out for dinner and then headed over to the Smyrna park for some fireworks. We figured Kennedy would fall asleep before we got their but she surprised us. She ended up taking just a couple of cat naps but was awake at 9pm for the fireworks. You would think that she would have been scared of the loud booms, but she LOVED them! She watched every bit of them and barely blinked. Every time a big, bright, loud one went off she laughed hysterically and she had a lot of ooos and ahhs in between. She is so cute!
Hanging out at the park before the fireworks.
Sunday, we got up early and went to church, then we did a whole lot of sitting around the house yesterday. Kennedy was a little cranky yesterday, very understandably, because she was up so late on Saturday night. She took a couple of 2 hour naps. Other than that she just played and played, like usual. We ended last night after Kennedy went to bed sitting by the fire, enjoying the nice night and our backyard since we only have a couple of weeks left to enjoy it.

Busy Week
We had a lot going on this week getting the house ready to put on the market. Mom and Dad stayed until Tuesday late morning helping us to get all of the finishing touches done. We never could have got it on the market without them! They did so much while we were in Savannah on top of taking care of Kennedy. Who could ask for better parents!
Bye, Bye Grandma and Grandpa, see you in 2 1/2 weeks!
Her new hang out spot that Grandma found for her. She loves looking out the window. she is going to be quite the outdoors girl!

so cute!
Saturday night
It was sooo pretty inside. There was a wedding just finishing up when we went in to take picutres. They were taking their pictures on the alter. It was a beautiful place for a ceremony.
The Crab Shack
The restaurant had mini alligators that you could feed snacks to. They looked kind of sad, I felt bad for them.
Date Day (Saturday)
We learned a lot at our marriage retreat on how to improve our communication skills and have a stronger marriage. We also learned that we have a pretty good marriage! It was a really good seminar that the Army put on and we were so glad that we went. Saturday after all day in lectures they let us out and "made" us go on a date that we got to plan ourselves. Tom and I decided to first go out for an ice cream cone by the hotel. We then headed over to Tybee Island to see the light house and to spend some time on the beach. After the beach we were hungry so went to a touristy restaurant "The Crab Shack" and had some really good crab legs. After we got back to the hotel, we showered and went out to dinner at a British restaurant and then went back to the Irish Pub since we had such a good time the night before. We ended up staying out until MIDNIGHT! We had so much fun spending time together that we completely lost track of time!

... and I climbed the whole thing and was even brave enough to go out on the balcony and take a look at the view!
Tom's first time in the Atlantic Ocean... He thinks? We took a really long walk on the beach after playing in the water for a little bit. The ocean water was so warm it felt like bath water.
First trip for Mommy away from Kennedy
It was really hard to do but last weekend Tom and I left Kennedy for the first time to go on a marriage retreat in Savannah, GA. Grandma and Grandpa Kaufman came down on Wednesday to spend the week here and take care of Kennedy while we were away. We had a great time but missed Kennedy like crazy the whole time.
We left Nashville on Friday morning and got to Savannah around noon. We checked into the hotel and went down to the riverfront for lunch. We ate at a really good shrimp restaurant. Tom had a shrimp lunch and I had a really good grouper pasta... Yummy!

Paula Dean's restaurant "Lady and Sons" The wait time is well over 2 hours every day, every hour so we didn't eat there. We heard it was good though :)
This is Chippewa Park, one of the many beautiful "squares" in downtown Savannah. This happens to be the one where Forrest Gump is sitting in the moving telling his story waiting for the bus.
Having our first "date night" of the weekend. We went out to eat at a Cajun restaurant it was soooo good too. The food in Savannah is just as good as the history! :) We ended the night at the Irish Pub, sitting out on the rooftop balcony doing a little people watch and watching the boats go by on the river.
Moving to Iowa
We found out about 2 weeks ago that Tom got his job in Iowa working for the USDA Animal Disease Lab. They wanted him to start right away however, we have a lot to do and a lot to move before then so they settled on July 19th. Now Kennedy will get to grow up by her family. We are so excited to be moving back home.

Kennedy is such a sleepy girl.
