First trip for Mommy away from Kennedy

It was really hard to do but last weekend Tom and I left Kennedy for the first time to go on a marriage retreat in Savannah, GA. Grandma and Grandpa Kaufman came down on Wednesday to spend the week here and take care of Kennedy while we were away. We had a great time but missed Kennedy like crazy the whole time.
We left Nashville on Friday morning and got to Savannah around noon. We checked into the hotel and went down to the riverfront for lunch. We ate at a really good shrimp restaurant. Tom had a shrimp lunch and I had a really good grouper pasta... Yummy!

Hanging out on the river front.

Paula Dean's restaurant "Lady and Sons" The wait time is well over 2 hours every day, every hour so we didn't eat there. We heard it was good though :)

This is Chippewa Park, one of the many beautiful "squares" in downtown Savannah. This happens to be the one where Forrest Gump is sitting in the moving telling his story waiting for the bus.

Having our first "date night" of the weekend. We went out to eat at a Cajun restaurant it was soooo good too. The food in Savannah is just as good as the history! :) We ended the night at the Irish Pub, sitting out on the rooftop balcony doing a little people watch and watching the boats go by on the river.

Moving to Iowa

We found out about 2 weeks ago that Tom got his job in Iowa working for the USDA Animal Disease Lab. They wanted him to start right away however, we have a lot to do and a lot to move before then so they settled on July 19th. Now Kennedy will get to grow up by her family. We are so excited to be moving back home.

Kennedy is such a sleepy girl.

She is starting to teeth a little more now. She really isn't very fussy but she is drooling a lot and loves to bite on her icy teething rings.

Hanging out in the pool

Alan and Cate had to leave right after lunch and then Mike decided to take a nap so Tom, Lisa and I decided to take the babies outside to the baby pool. Of all of the weekends to have everyone down we picked the hottest one, it was 98 and humid the entire weekend so we didn't go out much. We filled the pool up in the shade and let the kids in for a little bit. We had a real good time.

Kennedy playing in the shade in her fun seat.

Swimming with Daddy, so much fun!!!

What a little goof! I had such a good time hanging out with Ryan this weekend. He has such an outgoing personality. Him and Kennedy are going to have so much fun growing up together.

Cuddling with the tired baby after swimming.

Looking pretty on the alter with Mom and Dad.

Sitting on the alter all by herself. She was very proud to be baptized today. She was such a good girl and didn't even cry when the water was poured over her head or anything.

Kennedy's Baptism

I got up early this morning and got myself ready, then made some biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs for everyone before mass. We made it out the door on time and even got 6 people and 2 babies ready. I was impressed with ourselves. Kennedy looked adorable in her dress and the ceremony was very nice, if you saw the link below, you already know that. :)

Getting Kennedy dressed in her Christening Gown.

Kennedy meets her cousin Ryan

Uncle Mike fed Kennedy a Popsicle to help cool her down on this hot summer day.

Patty Cake with Uncle Alan

Ryan acting silly after he finished his dinner. What a cutie pie. I can't believe how big he has gotten!

COUSINS! Kennedy loves her cousin Ryan. She kept reaching out for him to give him hugs and kisses. Ryan wasn't really sure he wanted to give any away though.

Visitors for the weekend...

Alan and Cate got into town around 9pm last night from Peoria and Mike, Lisa and Ryan flew in around 8:30am this morning. They are all here to celebrate Kennedy's baptism tomorrow. We were so excited to have them come visit and especially Mike, Lisa and Ryan because this was their first time to meet Kennedy.

Cuddlin with Aunt Lisa

Hanging out with Alan and Cate, she loves holding on to stuff :)

The boys making some homemade ice cream.

Lovin on her Uncle Mike.

We spent the day just hanging out and visiting. It was really hot out so we didn't spend too much time outside except for to cook and eat lunch.

5 MONTHS OLD!

Kennedy is now officially 5 months old... Where has the time gone. She is growing up way too fast! Here are the things that Kennedy can do:
sleeps through the night (11-12 hours)
blow raspberries
gives really good hugs and big slobbery kisses
rolls over from her back to her belly
she can roll from her belly to her back but doesn't do it much
laughs out loud
loves to hear herself make noise
grabs her bottle and pulls it to her mouth
grabs her feet and tries to suck on her toes
sits up somewhat assisted, can hold herself with her arms for about 5 seconds or so
stands up like a big girl with just holding on to Mommy or Daddy's fingers
she loves some rice cereal mixed with bananas
she is the biggest Daddy's girl I know... She smiles for her Daddy any chance she gets
her personality is coming out more and more every day... I predict she is going to be very outgoing and silly

Daddy feeding her some nannas and cereal for lunch... Mmmmm!

All done... What a messy girl!

We did a lot of cleaning this afternoon and Tom was very proud of his clean table. So what if I have hoarding tendencies and we haven't been able to eat at the kitchen table in 2 month. I have been busy, okay!

Patiently waiting for her good night bootle after her good night bath. What a big girl.
