Donohoe Christmas Continued...

Kennedy is having quite the first Christmas. She is getting to see all her family and open so many presents! We got up Christmas morning and went to Christmas Mass. Kennedy really enjoyed listening to the Children's Choir. After church we came back and Aunt Eileen came over to help Pat cook Christmas Dinner for everyone.

Kennedy with her Aunt Eileen.

After dinner Kennedy got to open all her presents that Santa Claus brought for her!
She loves opening presents!

Merry Christmas Kennedy!

Santa brought her a tea set, a spinning top and some zoo animals on wheels. Mommy got to open her birthday present early too.
An Elmo book to read to Kennedy.

Christmas at the Donohoe house was great. We got to see the whole family and even Jimmy and Kathy and some of her family came over too. The only thing that went wrong is that Kennedy, Patrick and I ended up with the flu. Kennedy started throwing up Christmas night just before midnight, Patrick in the middle of the night and me first thing in the morning. Oh Boy was it NOT FUN... but we made it through and we got back home to Iowa safe and sound thanks to a wonderful Daddy and Husband. He did such a good job taking care of everything to get us back home.

It's not too often that everyone gets together in the same house at the same time.

Donohoe Christmas, Continued...

After dinner we took the little ones into the front room to have their Christmas. They had such a good time opening presents.

Kennedy's present is bigger than she is! She is so excited to see what's in there!

Ryan knew and he helped her open it, then he stole it from her. :(
Poor Kennedy. But once she got to play with it she loved her Winnie the Pooh train, thanks Uncle Mike and Aunt Lisa!

Kennedy opening her Christmas play set from Grandma!
I think she likes that too, what do you think?

Daddy's Christmas present was a little pink baseball mit to play with Kennedy, he loved it. Thanks Mom!
Kennedy also got an outfit from Patrick and Soumya and and outfit from her Aunt Kathy. Grandma got her a new bath towel, a
sing-a-majig and her little dress. Thanks everyone for a great Christmas!

Donohoe Christmas

Mike and Lisa came over with Ryan and Brianna around lunchtime on Christmas Eve. Brianna is just 4 weeks old and this is the first time that Tom, Kennedy and I will have met her. What a precious little baby. She slept most of the time that she was there but we still enjoyed looking at her.

The family gathering around the kitchen table, a Donohoe tradition. Aunt Soumya is about 21 weeks pregnant with baby Quinn's little cousin, a boy too.

How sweet. Sleeping like a little Christmas Angel.

Crazy Baby!

This baby is scared of nothing it seems like! I was finishing crocheting baby Brianna's Christmas blanket on Friday morning and Kennedy found my extra yarn to play with. After she got it wrapped up all around her she decided to go on an adventure around the living room and found the bookshelf. It wasn't long until she was inside of it having a good 'ol time.

"hmmm, I wonder how I could get in there, looks like just enough room?"

Out of order picture but this is where she discovered the yarn.

She made it up there.

A much better place to play with yarn, don't you think!
What a little monkey baby!

Meeting Uncle Patrick and Aunt Soumya

We got to Chicago Thursday night before Christmas around 6:30. We had a nice, smooth ride and only had to make one stop, not bad. This was going to be the first time that she has met her Uncle Patrick and Aunt Soumya since they moved to Washington State just before she was born. They greeted her at the door and actually freaked her out quite a bit. It took about 5 minutes to calm her down from crying but eventually she decided that she liked them and had a great weekend with them.

Uncle Patrick and Aunt Soumya giving their first baby a bath and Kennedy getting her first bubble bath.
All three of them had lots of fun!

Helping make caramels

Mom and I had a candy making marathon last week before we left for Chicago and Kennedy just couldn't wait to get her hands on one of those caramel spoons once it cooled down.

She didn't know what to think at first because she has never gotten to lick the spoon before but it didn't take her long to figure it out!

Yummy, Yummy Caramel....
More Please!

Decorating the Christmas Tree

Mom and Dad got their Christmas tree up and ready to decorate. We went over to Grandma and Grandpa Kennedy's house for lunch and to put up their Christmas Tree and when we got back it was time for Kennedy to help decorate this tree. She had so much fun and thought the tree was just so cool!

Standing all by herself like a big girl.
"Pretty tree!"

Helping Daddy hand the ornaments.

"Where should I put this one, Mom... In my mouth? okay!"

"So pretty. Wouldn't that be so much fun to grab hold of and shake!
Too bad Grandma gated it off so I can't touch it! MAN... Babies can't have any fun!"

Daddy's Army Christmas Party

Tom's Reserve weekend for December was a Family Christmas Party with Santa Claus. We were so excited for Kennedy to see Santa for the first time. She was really excited to see him when he walked into the room with his big sack of presents and his reindeer helpers. She said "ooooooooooo" and pointed with a big smile. It was her turn to sit on his lap and she didn't cry however, she really didn't know what to think. It was so cute.

Merry Christmas, Kennedy!

Showing off with Daddy to all of his Army friends.
What a cutie in her winter outfit!

Her very first Christmas present.
She got to unwrap it all by herself and she was so excited!

She got a paint it yourself dinnerware set.
We are going to put her hand prints and footprints on it when she turns one year old next month.

Baking cupcakes with Gwynie

It was getting towards the end of the week and Gwynie was really missing her Mommy and Daddy so Aunt Manda had to get creative to find things to keep her occupied until she got to see her Mommy and Daddy the next morning. We colored and did art projects (we made hand turkeys with Kennedy) and finally decided to make cupcakes and decorate them.

Making one for Uncle Tom.

I think this one was for Grandma.
She had each one designated for someone. So cute!

Playing with Gwynie

Kennedy had such a good time playing with her cousin Gwynie. Every time we walk by the fridge now she sees Gwynie's picture and points and goes "Ahhhh!" She misses her so much!

What pretty hair you have Gwynie, let me pull it out!

Showing Gwynie how to potty on the big girl potty!
1st time on the pot.

I wouldn't have believed it if I wasn't there to see it!
What a big girl... 10 months old and she went pee pee on the potty!

Daddy had to go to Reserves for the weekend.
Gwynie and Kennedy were so very happy to see him when he got home!

Family Time

Still have lots of Thanksgiving stuff to catch up on. There was so much going on that I barely had time get on the computer, let alone get any blogging done.

Gwynie loves to color. She insisted that Aunt Manda help and that I sit at her table with her...
I am surprised that chair held my big pregnant butt!

Grandma cuddling with her Mazie.

Story time with Aunt Cate.
Kennedy loves her books.
