I'm Tired!!!

Today has been quite a long day.(long couple of days actually!!) I worked from 7am till 11:00pm yesterday. I had to see patients in the clinic first, then we had a chili lunch so I felt obligated to stay to eat instead of going home for lunch like I usually do on Tuesday and Thursday. Then I went to go get my yearly TB test and then off to the high school. Most of our teams were away yesterday but we had a couple teams practice then a soccer game at 7pm. About 10 minutes left in the second half of the soccer game a kid broke his collar bone!! So off to the ER I went to make sure that the kid was taken care of over there. He got released about 11:00. Got to bed around 11:45 then up early this morning to go back to work. Thought I would be done early today since ALL of my teams are away, right. You wanna know the best part about my job. Realizing there is a Tennis match at 4:30 that I have to stay for when I thought I would be out of here at 5. Now looks like I'm staying till 7. So I went up and told the coaches that I have paper work to do and I am hanging out in the athletic training room until its over. I just can't sit out there today and watch Tennis of all sports!!! Yuck! Sorry tennis lovers! I hope everyone else is having a better day than me.

Here is a picture of me working...its football last fall but I thought I would add a picture today too.

Here's another, see, I can never escape laundry!!!!!!

Lazy Sunday!!!

We started today off slow. I actually fell asleep last night at 8:30. I think it might have had something to do with "Earth Hour". We shut all the lights out to watch TV. Would have gone out to have a fire but it was pretty soggy out there!! I also had to work all day yesterday at a track meet and oh how I love track!!! That pretty much exhausted me and we had some crazy storms here last night. So, after a big dinner, scary storms and a couple beers; I was out!!!

We were up pretty early last this morning and watched the news to see if there was any storm damage and really there wasn't much. We hung out for a little bit then went to church, went and bought us some new running shoes and then grocery shopping. That pretty much wore us out for the rest of the day. We came home and put all the groceries away and I put a pork roast in the crock pot.
Tom studied most of the afternoon.

So, our lives are pretty boring today as far as that goes unless you count watching a round or two of "puppy rumble" which keeps us entertained for a while.

We also got to talk to a lot of family today. We each got to talk to our Mommies today. I was on the phone with Kimmy and also heard from Drew...

We got some good news from Drew...He spent the weekend in California with Kendra and it looks like there will be another wedding coming soon. Drew asked Kendra to marry him on the beach at sunset...How romantic...Congratulations Drew and Kendra!!!

Spring Break Week

This week was a nice, much needed break from work. I spent a lot of it doing absolutely nothing but it was great!!! I had high hopes of getting a lot acomplished like cleaning out closets and organizing my kitchen cabinets, but oh well I have all summer for that, right?? The weather was nice, 60's and 70's all week so I got out in the yard a bit to play with the dogs. We barbequed and ate out on the patio one night and had another night by the fire.

Friday night we went out to Zanies, which is a comedy club in downtown Nashville. We saw Dave Atell who is a late night comic we used to watch on Comedy Central back in college. We had a great time. It's not often that we get out of the house for a "date" so it was really fun. Saturday we had to get up early to go help friends of ours move. It wasn't bad at all though. They had a lot of it done and organized so we just had to load stuff into the truck and take it to a storage unit a couple blocks away. They took us out to lunch for helping at the Red Robin. I guess we will be helping them again in a couple months when they move out of their rental and into their new house.

Saturday was a busy day!! After we got back from moving we layed around for a couple hours then showered and went out with another couple of friends. We went to the Flying Saucer which is just an old bar in Union Station that has about 200 beers to choose from, similar to Old Chicago but without the pizza. They did have pretty good food though and just as all bars do in Nashville we got to listen to live music after 9. The music was very loud but good. We went on from there to downtown to an Irish Pub, Mulligan's and had a beer there and listened to an Irish band. They were much better and definately more fun.

So Sunday we were pretty tired, we didn't get home until 1:30AM!! That is unheard of these days, I know we are old, right! So we layed around for a couple hours after sleeping in till 9. I sat in the house and crocheted for a while while Tom cleaned up the yard and mowed. I finished the blanket that I have been working on so I felt obligated to go outside and help him. We turned over this patch of dirt next to the patio and raked it all up and planted seed. Hopefully with the ropes and chair baracades we can keep the puppies out of it until the grass grows in. Wish us Luck!!! Today I am back to work at the High School, no games tonight though so should get home early. We do have a lot of softball games this week though so back to being busy for me...8 weeks until I'm off for the summer!!!

Irish Puppies!!!

The past few days have been nice. I have been home enjoying the start of my spring break. Tom's was last week so its too bad we didn't get to spend it together. He spent the first of his break in the yard but the rest of the week was cold and rainy!! Yuck!!! Today is the first nice day in a while. It is bright and sunny and 70 degrees here. I just got back from my 3 mile run. Which was not that good today but at least I went. I went to the store to buy this weeks groceries and had to pick up stuff for the puppies of course.

Shirley is not so much into the dressing up anymore but it has been a tradition since we got here to dress her up every St. Patrick's Day. the last couple years have been bandana's. Riley is a ham for the camera and loves hers. I can't wait for Tom to get home tonight because those pins light up in the dark, they are going to go crazy when I turn the lights off and turn them on chasing each other around!!!
I hope everyone has a great St. Patrick's Day!!!!

long week

This has been quite a long week. It started off great with good weather, that always makes me have a good day. Monday and Tuesday it was sunny and nice with Tuesday getting up to 81 degrees. These pictures were taken Tuesday. I got home from working baseball games and we made dinner. (Left over grilled chicken turned into yummy salads) We then went outside and sat by the fire pit for a little over an hour and unwound and then in to watch "The Biggest Loser". The rest of the week has been cold and rainy!!! I sat out a baseball game on Wednesday in the wind and 38 degrees!!! YUCK!! Yesterday's game got cancelled so I got to come home after the clinic but I ended up staying at the clinic late, oh well, you'll have that. Today I had my post op appointment with my surgean. He reassured me that everything went well during surgery and I am on the right track. He said to just keep things up naturally for the next 6 months, try to lose some weight and if nothing happens after that then he will see me in 6 months to talk about IUI.

We had a full moon on Tuesday night just as the clouds were moving in. It looked really cool as it was poking in and out of the clouds with that cool moon glow. I had a hard time getting a good picture but this one is the best with the tree and the glow of the clouds. I think it is pretty.

Here is Tom enjoying his fire pit. He spent the afternoon digging up the base for it. We spent last fall moving it back and forth from the side yard. Now it has a permanant home in the middle of the yard on a nice brick base. He did a great job, it looks really good out there. Its so peaceful to just sit by the fire on a cool night and talk about our days. I recommend it to all couples!!!

Yard Work

>
Its a Riley EXTREME Closeup!!!!

Tom is spending the day today in the yard. It has been a long winter and we have not figured out how to break the dogs of a digging habit. So...He gets to spend his first day of his spring break filling holes and planting grass. Sounds like fun, huh. If anyone has any suggestions on how to break dogs of digging holes when you are not there to stop them, PLEASE leave a comment and let us know!!!!!!

Look at the yard, last Fall we had a nice yard, full of grass and hole free. Now we have patchy grass and muddy puppies when it rains!!!!

So today has been a busy day already. I got up and went to the grocery store. Then, I came home and cooked breakfast for Tom and myself...mmmm...scrambled eggs and english muffins. I then had to go to the dentist...FUN and get 2 out of my last 3 fillings done. He didn't have time to do the 3rd because I had to get to work. Tonight we have our first official baseball game. At least it is nice weather so I will be able to enjoy the outdoors today.

flower

So I've really gotten into taking flower pictures lately. We have this lonely little flower that snuck over from our neighboors yard right in front of our bushes. Its so pretty, its been in the process of blooming for the last week and just opened up a few days ago.

Today was such a beautiful day!!!! By far the nicest day of the year. Too bad Tom was not here to enjoy it with me. He is down in Birmingham, AL this weekend playing Army man again. The puppies enjoyed today. They got to be in the yard almost all day. There are no bugs out yet so I just opened up the back door and let them come in and out whenever they wanted.
I got a lot accomplished today. I got up early and went to the grocery store...Big sale on meat today so stocked up, then spent the rest of the morning trimming chicken and making hamburger patties, but it will be worth it this summer because it is all grill ready in the freezer!!! Can't wait. I also stopped at a garage sale on the way home from the store and got some real nice lawn chairs. So now when (and if) we have company visit this summer we will have more places for you to sit!!!
I also finished up some painting in my bathroom, after replacing a light fixture we had some touch ups to do, so now its all done. After that I got some sheets and made a cover for the couch and a slip cover for a pillow, that took a while but looks real nice, I plan on doing one for the chair tomorrow so I will put the pictures of that up when I am done, I am so proud of my craftyness!!!
Other than that I just played in the yard with the dogs and talked to a neighbor for a while, we're thinking about joining a bowling league!!!

Fortunately the baseball game was cancelled on Saturday due to rain and cold. I spent most of the weekend lounging around finishing recovering from the surgery. Saturday we went to Sam's so that I could walk around. (It was raining and I was getting really stir crazy) Sunday was a much warmer and a sunny day so we did some cleaning around the house, I got our taxes done and we were able to go for a walk with the dogs outside. This week has still been pretty cold for TN but not bad. Its gradually getting warmer this week and by Sunday its supposed to be 74. Spring is finally here!!! I am looking forward to getting out and hanging out in the backyard!!!
